Southern Europe (Page 1)
2012

In the summer of 2012, I set off once again for Europe. This three week trip included an exploration of five cities:

  • Berlin, Germany
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Belgrade, Serbia
  • Athens, Greece

The first leg of the tour was Berlin, Germany. Most of the Berlin Wall is gone, but some remnants remain.

Berlin is full of historic places, such as the Brandenburg Gate as well all of the WWII artifacts such as Checkpoint Charlie and what is left of Hitler's bunker.

Also lots of great sidewalk cafes in Berlin, and along with them . . . German beer.

The next stop was Prague, Czech Republic. This city is like one big living museum.

The Danube runs all the way through this section of Europe.

One of the smartest things I've done on these trips . . . rent a bike.

From Prague, the trip continued south to Budapest.
