I began writing a textbook for my students to use in 1991. I began taking photos for the book in October 1992. By January 1993, I had completed my first (and so far only) book. "The Video Book" was published by Prentice-Hall in 1997. I took all of the pictures and did all of the darkroom work myself.

During my six years at the Institute, I developed an interest in computers. I spent a lot of my spare time learning the ins and outs of computer operation. Here I am with the Art Institutes resident computer technician, Robert Tollison, July, 1990.
My teaching career came to an end in December 1993.
This photo was taken by one of my last students, Tim Horning, as I walked out of one of the editing suites with a box of tapes I had just graded.
